Remmi Schwahn competed in the 46th Annual United States Junior Open Championship on December 30-31st, 2021, at the Oklahoma State Fair Park.
He placed 3rd out of 22 athletes in the 6 & Under 40 pound bracket.
Remmi earned 30 points in four wins with a Tech Fall in the third period 17- 1.
In his second match, he allowed no points and scored 7-0 at the end of the third period.
Remmi’s third match was won 6-2, which placed him in the finals at 4-0 for the day.
During the finals match, Remmi lost 13-1 and then had to wrestle in the challenge match for 2nd place immediately after and lost 14-7.
Remmi is a 5 year old from the Chandler Takedown Club coached by Shane Earp and Bo Pryor. He will compete in OKWA Novice State Championships on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Expo Square Pavilion in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to try to claim the title for 6 & Under 40 pounds.
