1. Update on asphalt overlay on Highway 18 A. Oklahoma Department of Transportation has started the asphalt overlay on Highway 18. They have started on the east side and doing one lane at a time. Traffic is being directed with a pilot car so be patient and careful.

August and Lincoln enjoyed playing this week at the pocket park on Main Street across from the Stroud Arts building. There are sidewalk games such as hopscotch, tiger walk, mirror me, floor is lava, twister and several more.

I was mighty glad to see the return of the International Finals Youth Rodeo this week with all the contestants, parents, grandparents and others. After a year off due to COVID-19, it’s been good to see all the pickups and trailers driving through the area this week.

Thank you to Stroud American Legion Commander Mike Horwath, members of the Stroud Post #257 and the Bristow Boy Scouts for holding a flag retirement ceremony this past Monday. This is the first ceremony of this type that has been conducted in Stroud since our Boy Scout organization disbanded.
