Meeker board to permit disk golf course

Meeker Town Board of Trustees this week voted to allow two men to set up a Frisbee Golf Course at the Meeker Lake. They also agreed to allow Leslie Wilbourn to apply for grants for the Town of Meeker while getting paid from the grant itself.

Poteau 42, Lions 21

The Chandler Lions played up two classes Friday night, traveling to Poteau to face the Class 4A Pirates, and played them on even terms for three quarters.

Tigers 56, Okemah 22

Stroud built up a 48-0 lead in three quarters and posted a 56-22 win over Okemah in the final nondistrict tuneup. The Tigers host Liberty at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Bulldogs fall to Yale, 46-0

The injury-riddled Davenport Bulldogs lost to Yale 46-0 last Friday night and now turn their attention to a homecoming clash with SW Covenant. Coach John Greenfield said homecoming is at 6:45 p.m. with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Lions 21, Bristow 14

Staff writer BRIAN BLANSETT Chandler spotted Bristow two early touchdowns, but wrote a new script for the rest of the game and came away wth a 21-14 win Friday night in the home opener. The win lifts the Lions to a 2-0 record going into next week’s game at Poteau.
