Davenport wallops Drumright

Scoring seven touchdowns in the first half, the Davenport Bulldogs shut out Drumright 52-0 last week to run their season record to 9-0. Because of the 45-point rule, the game was over at the conclusion of the second quarter.

Going to state

Riley Randall and Braxton Bussell finished first and third at the Class 3A cross country regional in Enid Saturday, leading Meeker’s boys to a state-qualifying performance. Randall, the defending state champion, turned in a 17:09, the fastest qualifying time at any of the three regionals.

McLoud falls to Perkins; awaits Bridge Creek

Following a 41-6 district setback to Perkins last week, the McLoud Redskins’ focus this week is on Bridge Creek who will they square off against in a road contest Friday night. McLoud Coach Rusty Hall said kickoff is at 7 p.m. The Redskins are now 1-7 overall and 0-5 in district competition.
