Students at Carney High School certainly kept busy during the fall semester by participating in offcampus learning opportunities in the larger area, regional and national communities.

Trial set in manslaughter case

A jury trial has been scheduled for a Texas man who faces a first degree manslaughter charge and who pleaded innocent during his arraignment A formal charge of first degree manslaughter was filed March 22, 2024 in Lincoln County District Court against Travis Smith, 46, of Dallas, Texas.

Trials set on felony drug charges

Jury trials have been scheduled for two McLoud men facing three felony charges each in connection with trafficking illegal drugs, cultivation of a controlled substance and possession of firearms during commission of a felony.

Promotions announced at Vision Bank in Meeker

Chandler PoliceThe Chandler Police Department responded to the following: Saturday, October 26Ofc. Gilleland responded to a two-car collision on 1st and Manvel involving a red Toyota Rav4 and a white Dodge 150. Both vehicles sustained minor damage, and neither driver had any injuries.

Driver charged with trafficking

A driver stopped on the Turner Turnpike for a traffic violation that led to a felony drug charge after more than 50 pounds of marijuana was seized from his vehicle as been set for the felony disposition docket.

Former Wellston teacher sentenced

A former Wellston substitute teacher, convicted of two counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of Technology, has been sentenced to prison.Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on April 12, 2023 against Emma Delaney Hancock, 26 at the time.
