Stroud to get visitors’ locker room

The Stroud School Board voted last week to approve a $1.4 million visitor’s locker room to be located at the football field.Superintendent Joe Van Tuyl said they’ve been working on the development for some time, and he doesn’t see it as a large undertaking.“We had available finances.

Chandler approves eight new stop signs

The Chandler City Council approved the installation of eight new stop signs at their monthly meeting on Dec. 10.Mike Keller, assistant director of public works, said the City’s focus on future growth inspired him to send a team out to find intersections that needed new stop signs.

County commissioners approve jail contract

Lincoln County commissioners this week approved a contract with Ascend Commercial Builders, LLC for the jail renovation. They also awarded a bid for equipment and outfitting of five 2024 Dodge Ram vehicles for the Sheriff’s Department.

Town Talk

Wreaths Across Stroud is taking place this year on Sunday, December 15th at 1:30 p.m. at Stroud Cemetery. There will be a short program in remembrance of our veterans and then we will lay wreaths on each veteran’s grave. We ask all community members to come out and help us honor these men and women.

A great Christmas

This Christmas coming up in a few days may be the greatest ever. It was 43 years ago at this time that my wife Pat and I were anxiously arrival of our child.Meghan Kathleen didn’t actually arrive until about six weeks after Christmas in early February. We were grateful when she was born.
