Prison sentence for Wellston man in neglect

One of four persons from Wellston charged last summer with child neglect recently pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to prison. Steven Owen Cohran, 32, was formally charged July 24, 2023 in Lincoln County District Court with child neglect.

Hearings continued in animal cruelty

Preliminary hearings have been continued for two women from Wellston who were arrested as the result of an animal neglect investigation that began in March of last year and who are facing 49 charges each of animal cruelty.

Jane Ellen Kimberlin Fleming, age 71, entered Heaven’s gates on February 6, 2024. She was born in St. Anthony’s hospital in OKConAugust23,1952, to Vernea Mettie Terrill Kimberlin and Bert Moddrill Kimberlin. Her sister, Gean, and brother, Dale, welcomed her to the family.
