Stroud Masons donate to food pantry

Stroud Masonic Lodge presented the Stroud Food Pantry a check in the amount of $7,363.00. This amount represented $3,863.00 raised by a Raffle and Hot dog sale during the Stroud Alumni celebration held on May 27 and $3,500.00 in matching funds.

Deadline change for July 4th

The Lincoln County News office will close Tuesday in observance of the July Fourth holiday. Because of the holiday being on Tuesday, our normal day to send the paper to press, deadlines for obituaries, ads and legal notices will be at 5 p.m. Friday.

Angela Gai (Mobbs) Starling was born September 29th, 1969 in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Michele (Vance) Mobbs and Bill Mobbs. She passed away June 14th, 2023 after a courageous fight against lung cancer at the age of 53.

Twyla Fern Trent King was born on August 18, 1935 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma near a small settlement called Micawber. She passed away June 9, 2023 at the age of 87. Her parents were Rufus Ray Trent and Winifred Evelyn Reust Trent. Twyla was the last of 9 children born to Ray and Winifred.

Larry Patrick Haney Sr

Larry Patrick Haney, Sr was born May 13, 1944 in Wichita Falls, Texas to R.D. and Alta May (Patrick) Haney. He passed away June 17, 2023 in Wellston at the age of 79. He spent most of his childhood in Petrolia, Texas and later graduated from Fox High School in Oklahoma with the class of 1962.

Curtis Michael Smith was born on August 5, 1999 and departed this life too soon on June 16, 2023. Curtis was born to Randel Dean and Kellie Jo (Slimp) Smith in Cushing, OK. Curtis was a 2018 graduate of Stroud High School. After high school he pursued a career as a Pharmaceutical Technician.
