Jane Hefley Kaufman

Jane Hefley Kaufman of Carney, Okla. passed away July 10, 2022, at the age of 77. Jane was born Dec. 17, 1944, in Beloit, Kan., her parents were Lee and Irene Hefley. Jane grew up in Downs Kansas, attended school there until she graduated with her classmates in 1962.

Epic pays $600K to former Sen. Sharp

Griffin to be inducted in Hall of Fame

Former Guthrie and Chandler basketball coach Bob Griffin will be inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame this weekend. The patriarch of a family of coaches, Griffin will be inducted at a banquet at the Southern Hills Marriott Hotel in Tulsa on Saturday night.

Wellston man faces felonies

Pre-preliminary hearings have been scheduled for a Wellston man facing a total of a dozen charges, among them four felonies, that were filed in two separate cases. They were filed within two weeks of one another.

Fatal collision on turnpike

A Missouri woman died and another woman was injured in a traffic collision involving three vehicles early Tuesday on the Turner Turnpike west of Stroud, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
