The mini-golf course is moving along. You might not be seeing many changes, but they are happening behind the scenes, and you will see them soon. We are making some additional obstacles for each hole which will be representative of that State’s hole.

A happy, happy Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday is always special and this year once again it was really special. Our daughter Meghan brought our grandson Liam over on Saturday afternoon so he could spend the night with us. She stayed around for a while that afternoon, too, and we had lunch before she headed back home to Norman.

On target: Chandler, NRC, McLoud head to national competitions

Archery teams from three area school districts are heading to different locations to compete in national tournaments. Archers from Chandler and McLoud are headed to Salt Lake City, Utah this weekend to compete in the Nationals there.

Meeker Elementary School had its first-ever color run Saturday as a school fund-raiser. The run drew a large crowd, with about 70 students registered and quite a few adults. Teachers and volunteers along the route tossed dry paint powder on the runners.

Bobby Dean “Bob” Tremain of Meeker was born July 29, 1932, in Enid, Okla. He died Thursday, April 7, 2022, in Oklahoma City at the age of 89 years. Tremain, the son of Homer and Louise Tremain, was married to Sadie Tremain in 1951.

Charles Wayne Canada, 67, of Wellston, Okla., died April 15, 2022, after a three-year battle with cancer. Canada was born Aug. 28, 1954, to Wayne and Mary Canada of Harrah, Okla. He married Sandy in 2003.

Glen Michael “Pee Wee” Lewis, a lifelong resident of Chandler, Okla., passed away on April 14, 2022, at the age of 69. Pee Wee was born on September 12, 1952, in Chandler, to Eugene Forrest and Josephine Caroline (Maxwell) Lewis.He graduated from Chandler High School in 1970.

Funeral services for Jane Westfall of Stillwater, Okla., were held Friday, April 15, 2022, in the chapel of Strode Funeral Home, which handled the final arrangements. Burial followed at the Carney Cemetery.

Nothing makes a statement in the drop-off line like showing up in a sheriff’s car or a fire truck. Such was the case Thursday at Park Road Elementary School in Chandler. In March, the school had its annual Quilt Auction and Bingo Night fundraiser.
