Michele Lynn (Vance) Mobbs was born April 20, 1950, in Ponca City, Okla. She died Monday, April 4, 2022, at the age of 71 years. Mobbs, the daughter of Jimmy Dean and Georgia Mae Catherine (Owens) Vance, was married to Bill Mobbs in 1968.

Patricia Lou Speer was born June 5, 1940, in Cushing, Okla. She died Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Wellston at the age of 81 years. Speer was the daughter of Walter Isaac and Maxine (Gabbard) Mincks. She married Paul Speer in 1957. She was of the Christian faith and a follower of Christ.

Stanley Richard Weiss, 66, of Chandler died at his home Sunday, April 10, 2022, surrounded by his family. Service arrangements will be shared at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of AE Funeral Services of Shawnee, Okla.

Seamster’s motion denied

A motion to dismiss a first degree murder charge against a Wellston man was denied Monday in Lincoln County District Court following a daylong evidentiary hearing.

Chandler board of education meeting

The Chandler Board of Education this week hired a Secondary teacher and coach and also accepted several resignations from those either retiring or moving. School Supt. Melody Toma said that following an executive session, the board returned to open meeting and employed A.J.

Six charges in arrest

Six charges, one felony and five misdemeanors, have been filed after Stroud police arrested a driver during a traffic stop. Formal charges were filed April 7 in Lincoln County District Court against Daniel Frank Kozlowski, 43, of Bristow.
