Officials at Meeker Public Schools have released the honor rolls for the third quarter of the 2020-2021 school year. Meeker High School The following were on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

Every so often, I drag out one or two of my old film cameras and make Kindra pose for pictures until I can tell that her patience is almost shot. The cameras are awkward to focus, they take a while to adjust the exposure and you get only a dozen shots per roll of film.

This past Sunday Pat and I were invited over to her mom’s for supper. It’s always a delight to have her mom Ruth cook for us. You know it’s going not only to be good but delicious. This woman is 94 years old and in a couple of months will celebrate her 95th birthday.

Everyone is celebrating Spring Break this week and I hope that’s an indication that spring weather is just around the corner. Town Talk is anxious to get outside again and continue working on community projects.

State legislative update

The House passed two measures Thursday that will grant tax relief to individual Oklahomans and businesses. House Bill 2041 reduces the personal income tax by .25% through a credit. It results in tax reductions for all income levels.

Robbery charge in Stroud gun case

A man from Depew faces a felonious first degree robbery charge after allegedly stealing a firearm from a Stroud resident last fall. Russell Ted Foutch, 31, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on March 2 of this year.

Chandler High School graduate Heath Gray captured a national championship at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Tournament this past weekend in St. Louis, Mo.
