CELEBRATING READING ACHIEVEMENTS

Wellston Elementary School Librarian Janet Humphrey is pictured with students in grades three through fi ve who read three or more books from the 2021 Children’s Sequoyah Masterlist. After reading three books, students were eligible to vote for their favorite book.

Driving to state

Both of the Dale High School basketball teams are headed to the state tournament and each will be in action today (Thursday). It’s at least the third straight year the teams have qualified for the state tourney, though last year’s tournament was canceled on the day it was to start due to COVID-19.

Chandler, Stroud, Prague fall in area tournament

Stroud shines at Luther meet

Stroud’s girls track team brought home eight first-place finishes at the Luther track meet Saturday. It was the first meet of the season. The results are: - 3200 Meter Relay(Gabi Morris, Kenlee Parrick, Macey Morris, Madison Ham)-10:47 1st - 100 meter hurdles-Kenlee Parrick 18.

Ham signs with East Central

Wellston senior Shealee Paull signed a softball letter of intent on Monday to play college softball at Pratt Community College in Pratt, Kan. Pictured on the front row with Shealee is her mother, Monica Rose, and her father, John Paull.
