The family of George ThomasWoodenfromFairfield, CA (until recently) is saddened to announce his passing on August 25, 2025, at the age of 94.Born in Chandler, Oklahoma, on November 22, 1930, George grew up during the Great Depression and World War II.

The Lincoln County Fall Fair took place last week, running from Aug. 20 to Aug. 23, at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.It brought together participants from all over the county to show everything from rabbits and poultry to cattle, goats, sheep, and pigs.

St. Cloud case on appeal to Oklahoma Supreme Court

A case seeking a preliminary injunction on the demolition of the St. Cloud buildings has been appealed, according to court documents. The Petition of Error was filed on July 22, with an amended Petition of Error filed on Aug. 8. It is now waiting for a decision from the Oklahoma Supreme Court.

Trial set for Ventris on robbery charge

A Cushing man previously convicted of several felonies now facing a robbery charge has pleaded innocent and his case has been set for the felony call docket this month.Donnie Ray Ventris, 59, was formally charged in Lincoln County District on Dec. 31, 2024 with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
