Kendra Miller’s and Kathy Shupe’s pre-K classes came together on the lawn of East Side Elementary School in Chandler for the annual pre-K rodeo last Friday morning. Parents Dede Fent, Darrell Fent, Jennifer Dryden, and Alisha Sams came to help Miller and Shupe with the event. Cowgirls and cowboys barrel raced their horses around cones on the school lawn. They got to ride the great rocking horses before lassoing rowdy hay bales with their meanest faces. Since they were all real cowgirls and cowboys, none of them got rope burn from the rowdy hay bales. These experienced pre-K students then practiced throwing cow pie Frisbees before finishing the event with water from the teacher’s canteen.
