Davenport’s Bulldogs remained undefeated, pounding Depew 50-0 in a Class B contest last week that was over by halftime.
Davenport Coach John Greenfield said, “Other than one turnover, we played really well.”
The Bulldogs are now 2-0 in district competition and are 7-0 overall headed into Friday night’s road contest at Prue. Kickoff is at 7 p.m., Greenfield said.
The coach said of Depew, “They were big, but inexperienced and not as quick as we are. They had a bunch of turnovers,” he noted.
“Our reserves got in a couple of series and they scored one time. They came up short in their first drive, but went down and scored our last touchdown just before halftime that ended the game.”
The 45-point ahead rule took effect at that point.
The coach said his Bulldogs ran on Depew and threw on them as well.
He said his squad is healthy and ready to go.
Following Friday night’s game at Prue, the Bulldogs will return home the following week to take on Drumright and then will travel to Tulsa’s Regent Prep for the final regular season contest.
