A Harrah pair scheduled to go on trial for multiple sex crimes has pleaded guilty to several of the charges and have been sentenced to prison.
Jeremy C. Barnes, Sr., 36 and Amanda D. Bond-Langston, 32, who each faced six counts of child sexual abuse and one count each of child neglect, changed their pleas from innocent to guilty several days prior to their trial dates.
They had been scheduled for trial during this month’s Lincoln County jury docket.
Barnes and his attorney recently appeared before District Judge Cindy Ashwood along with the state prosecutor.
As the result of a plea bargain agreement, the state dismissed two charges of child sexual abuse and one for child neglect against Barnes.
He pleaded guilty to four counts of child sexual abuse.
On each of the four counts, Judge Ashwood sentenced Barnes to 20 years in the custody of the Department of Corrections, and assessed $500 fines on each count as well.
The judge ordered the 20-year terms to run concurrently. Barnes was advised by the judge each charge is an 85 percent crime.
A $100 VCA was also ordered on each of those four charges.
Barnes was also advised of the mandated sex offender registry and of Post Conviction supervision. He is to report to the Court Clerk Cost administrator within 180 days of his release from prison.
In May of this year, Barnes had waived his right to a speedy trial, court records show.
