Pastor Ruby Mayan Hughes was born November 20, 1940, in Buckeye, Ariz. She died Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the age of 81 years.
Hughes, the daughter of William Horace and Eunice Mae Darnell, married Alford Hughes on April 18, 1973, in Tulare, Calif.
She was involved in several churches around Lincoln County.
Preceding her in death were her sons Carlton Carl Hargis and Earl Thomas Hargis, her daughter-in-law Margaret Hargis and three grandsons.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Wade Hargis; three daughters, Esther Lucille Thomas, Verlene Marie Hargis and Bettey MayAn Riley; nine grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Viewing will be 1-8 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Chandler.
