The Chandler boys powerlifting team won the Bethel meet last Thursday and Kalee Peery set an unofficial state record in the squat.
Peery squatted 270 pounds, which is five pounds more than the state record of 265 lbs for her weight class. State records can only be officially set at the state powerlifting meet.
The Chandler boys won the small school portion of the meet with a total of 358 points. Chandler had 29 male lifters that contributed to the win.

The Chandler high school girls finished fifth out of 20 teams competing and only had 5 girls competing at the event.

The Chandler Freshman team won the 9th Grade portion of the junior high meet on Thursday. Chandler had 19 lifters competing and 18 of the lifters placed in the top five of their respective weight classes.
