A Prague woman was killed and two people from Paden were critically injured recently in a two-vehicle traffic collision east of Prague in Lincoln County.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Caleb Scott identified the woman who died as Joan H. Marlowe,79.
Scott said Miller EMS pronounced her dead at the scene from head, arm, leg, trunk external and trunk internal injuries. He said she was transported by the Medical Examiner’s Office to the ME’s Office in Oklahoma City.
The trooper identified the two critically injured persons from Paden as Ronald W. Vorholt, 85, and Betty L. Collins 90.
Vorholt was transported by Mediflight to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa suffering from head, arm, leg, trunk external and internal injuries.
He reported Collins was transported by Miller EMS to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with head, arm, leg, trunk external and internal injuries.
Scott said the collision occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on April 22 on U.S. 62 near S. 3560 Road westbound, about one mile east of Prague.
The trooper reported that Marlowe was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy westbound on U.S. 62 and Vorholt was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado eastbound on the highway.
He said for an unknown reason that Marlowe’s ve hicle went left of center striking Vorholt’s vehicle head on.
Vorholt’s vehicle went off the roadway to the right 30 feet, rolling two times and coming to rest on the driver’s side.
The trooper stated the condition of both drivers at the time of the collision is under investigation and cause of the collision is also under investigation.
He reported seat belts were equipped and in use in both vehicles.
Scott, of the Lincoln and Pottawatomie County detachment of Troop A was assisted by Trooper Pape of the Traffic Homicide Division, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Prague Police and Fire Departments and Miller EMS.
