The Lincoln County Commissioners should not approve or consider using $1.6 million of county founds, no matter the source, nor approve the Oklahoma State University County Extension Service request for $1.8 million of Lincoln County American Rescue Plan Act funds for a new 9,600 square foot OSU Extension Office.
Historically the acquisition and maintenance of OSU Extension Office/ services state wide, including land, buildings, offices and staff were and are the exclusive responsibility of Oklahoma State University and it’s Extension Services.
Again, the funds requested by the Extension office should not be provided from Lincoln County ARPA funds, funds which can be put to better use in other areas for the greater benefit of Lincoln County community at large.
The OSU Extension had an opportunity in the past to move their offices out of the courthouse but chose not to do so.
They instead lobbied 4H parents, ladies groups and others to remain in the courthouse and there they sit. Chris Hodson, Chandler
