It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Louise Overton on January 19, 2023. Linda was born on July 9, 1951 and lived a full and meaningful life. Her care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Linda was born to Jimmy and Juanita (Harris) Burns and had four full sisters and six half-siblings. Throughout her life, Linda was known for her fighting spirit and fierce determination. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, and her love for her family was immeasurable. Despite her battle with a brain tumor, Linda remained strong and never lost her spirit.
In her later years, Linda resided in the Meeker Nursing Facility and spent fifteen years there. She made many friends, including a dear friend named Frankie. She had a unique way of showing her love, and it was often said that if Linda loved you, she would be mean to you. When Linda passed from this life, her daughter Janet was right by her side, holding her hand.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Juanita; her sisters, Brenda Burns, Debbie Burns, Betty Wall and Robin Barker; and half-sister Phyllis.
She leaves behind her three children, Janet Hayes and husband Glover, Jamie Overton, and Jason LaJoie; six grandchildren Andrew Hayes and wife Rebecca, Alicia DelosSantos and husband Joe, Glover Hayes IV and wife Michala, Jessie Hayes, Jeremy Overton and Lexi Overton; and five greatgrandchildren Joe, Zoey, and Braden DelosSantos, Glover Hayes V and Emmie Lou Hayes; half-siblings, Lonnie, Judy, Nancy, Joyce and Janet.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff at the Meeker Nursing Facility and Choice Hospice for being her extended family and the love, care and compassion they had for Linda.
Graveside Services were held January 23, 2023, at Tryon Cemetery in Tryon, Oklahoma with Bro. Tom Wright officiating.
