Chandler appoints school board member

Chandler’s Board of Education this week voted to appoint a new member to the board, modified the contract of School Supt. Scott Baade and approved the re-employment of three of its principals.

Board members also accepted the resignations of two teachers and a principal.

Baade said the board appointed Doug Bridge to fill the Office No. 1 seat for the remainder of this year.

Board Member Tony Jarvis, who held seat No. 1, resigned recently.

Bridge will need to file for election during the filing period in December if he desires to continue serving on the board, Baade explained. That will mean Chandler has two board seats up in 2024, he has said.

Following an executive session, the board returned to open meeting and approved a threeyear contract for Baade.

Also after the executive session, board members approved the re-employment of Lisa Almand, East Side Principal, Bridget Hughey, Park Road Principal and Junior High Principal Geoff Metheny, Baade said.
