Carson Jackson and Skylenn Yaunt have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for September.
Carson Jackson is the daughter of Josh and Jen Jackson.
After Carson graduates, she plans to continue her academic and athletic pursuits at the collegiate level and major in business management. She hopes to eventually obtain a Masters in business, which will aid her in a successful marketing career.
Carson is ranked tenth out of 80 students in the graduating class of 2024 with a GPA of 3.96. She has taken advanced classes in English and been on the honor roll for three years.
Her honors and awards include Academic Excellence, Freshman Athlete of the Year, District Player for fast and slow pitch softball three times, District Champion for fast and slow pitch softball two times, Tri County Player of the Year nominee for basketball, fast pitch and slow pitch, 2023 Regional Champion for track and field, and a threetime State Qualifier for track and field.
Carson’s participation in organizations outside of athletics includes FCA for two years and student council for two years. She also attends Victory Life Church in Chandler. Her leadership roles include team captain of the basketball, softball and track teams. She is also involved in Unity in the Community and Little Kids softball camp.
Skylenn Yaunt is the daughter of Tyler Yaunt and Jessica Estep. She has two younger sisters, Holly Yaunt and Gatlen Yaunt.
After Skylenn graduates, she plans to continue her education at Gordon Cooper in graphic design.
Skylenn is a member of FFA. Through this organization, she has helped with many volunteer projects, including Operation Christmas Child, Coffee with Heroes, the Chamber Banquet and cleaning the fire hydrants around Chandler.
She has also volunteered with Project Heart, taken blankets to the Children’s Hospital and made Christmas cards for veterans.
