A worker from Ohio has died in an industrial accident in Stroud after a piece of equipment reportedly fell on him.
Stroud Police Chief Clint Gaylord identified the man as 46-year-old Willard Kieffer, Jr.
Gaylord said the call came in at 12:09 p.m. that a piece of equipment had fallen on a worker at the Stroud Crude Terminal. He reported that he and some of his officers along with Stroud Fire Department and Miller EMS responded to the scene.
“He was dead when we arrived,” Gaylord stated. “He was working on one of the rail engines and a large traction motor fell on him,” he said.
“Railserve was the company doing the work. Kieffer was employed by Railserve,” the chief added.
Gaylord pointed out Kieffer’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office and they will determine the cause of death.
