Area school board candidate filings

Candidates for Boards of Education in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties filed Declaration of Candidacies last week.

In Lincoln County, those who filed for seats include: Agra, Office No. 4, Trenton Herrmann, wins unopposed.

Carney, Office No. 4, Charles Wright, JaNetta Milburn-Barr, Ramona Perry.

Chandler Office No. 4, Doug Bridge incumbent, wins unopposed; Office No. 1, unexpired two-year term, Tony Lee, incumbent, wins unopposed.

Davenport Office No. 4, Tina Perceful, wins unopposed.

Meeker Office No. 4, Jason Hessman, Leonard Buoy.

Prague Office No. 4, Travis Provaznik, Adam Hoduge, Coty Davis.

Stroud Office No. 4, Jerred Eversole, incumbent, Holly A. Thompson.

Wellston, Office No. 4, Eric Bozeman, Tyer Barnes.

White Rock, Office No. 1, 3-year three term, no one filed; Office No. 2, unexpired term two years, David Brockman, wins unopposed.

Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh and Pottawatomie County Election Board Secretary Patricia Carter have explained that if more than two candidates file for the same position, a primary election will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024. If one of those candidates receives more than 50 percent of the vote, that candidate will be named the elected official.

If no candidate receives more than 50 percent, then the two receiving the highest number of votes will vie for the position in the April 2 General Election.

If only two candidates file for an office, then they will appear on the General Election ballot April 2.

In Pottawatomie County, the following filed for office and each was unopposed so each wins his or her respective seat.

North Rock Creek Office No. 4, Ray Lee Reece III.

Dale, Office No. 4, Jennifer Herring.

McLoud Office No. 4, Doug VanScoyoc, incumbent.

Gordon Cooper Technology Center, Office No. 1, Dean Evans, incumbent.
