A woman charged recently with two felonies has pleaded guilty to both and has been handed two state prison terms.
Pre-preliminary hearings have been set for a man who was also charged at the same time with her, but he faces a total of three felonies and a misdemeanor.
Azure Skye Abbott, 22, of Catoosa, and James Rasheed Wilkins, 37, address unknown, are each charged with multiple counts in two cases.
Among the charges filed against each is second degree burglary.
Abbott is accused on Dec. 23, 2023 of breaking and entering into a mobile home on S. 3430 Road owned by Linda Lewis in which property of value was contained by breaking through the front door with the intent to commit larceny.
Those charges were filed against each in Lincoln County District Court Dec. 28, 2023.
On Jan. 4, 2024, each was also charged with larceny of automobile, aircraft or other motor vehicle. They are accused on Dec. 23, 2023 of taking and carrying away a Jeep Liberty owned by Sasha Harris.
Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk set their bonds at $5,000 each on those charges and scheduled their prepreliminary hearings for Jan. 18.
Supplemental information filed in the case shows Wilkins with three previous felony convictions. All three were in Tulsa County District Court. They include Oct. 5, 2006 for possession with intent to distribute, March 2, 2009 for first degree burglary and on Nov. 29, 2022 for eluding a police officer.
Abbot’s previous felony conviction was on Oct. 18, 2022 in Washington County, Ark., for fleeing.
On Jan. 18, Abbott, appearing before Special Judge Emily Mueller, waived her preliminary hearing 2 judge rule and pre-sentence investigation. Upon the state’s recommendation as a result of a plea bargain Abbott entered a guilty plea to second degree burglary.
The plea was received and the court found Abbott guilty as charged. Judge Mueller sentenced her to five years in the Department of Corrections, fine her $100, assessed her a $100 VCA and court costs. The judge gave her credit for time served.
Abbott on the same date and under the same plea bargain agreement pleaded guilty to larceny of an automobile, aircraft or other motor vehicle. The judge handed Abbott the same sentence on that charge and ordered the two terms to run concurrent with one another and with Abbott’s previous conviction in the Washington County, Ark., case.
Abbott waived a 10-day detainer. She is to report to the Court Clerk’s Office within 180 days of her release.
Wilkins is accused of committing the same second degree burglary crime as Abbott, but he is also accused of possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, a felony, and knowingly receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor.
The firearm count accuses him on Dec., 23. 2023 of possession and within his control a zip gun which is a homemade firearm that he was carrying after he had been convicted of first degree burglary on March 9, 2009 in Tulsa County.
The knowingly concealing stolen property charges him on the same day of concealing social security cards, driver’s licenses and credit cards that had been stolen from an individual.
Wilkins appeared on Dec. 27 before Judge Kirk and she set his bond at $10,000.
His pre-preliminary hearing on all the charges is scheduled for Jan. 25.
