Lincoln County commissioners were informed during Monday’s meeting that the county has been included in a State of Emergency Declaration due to storms that struck the county early Sunday morning.
Gov. Kevin Stitt declared the State of Emergency on Sunday for several Oklahoma counties.
Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Charlotte Brown advised the commissioners during her update that five homes were impacted, one of those lost, and there were two injuries.
“There were no fatalities,” Brown reported. “But two were injured, one of those a child, the other an adult.
Brown said the tornado damage occurred in Southwest Lincoln County in the same area where firefighters and other emergency responders battled a 1,100 acre wildfire last week.
She said Precinct 20, Cornerstone Baptist Church, was impacted.
If the electricity was not able to be turned on in time the Emergency Management Office was going to provide a generator to ensure voters could cast their ballots there on Election Day.
Commissioners approved a quote from Scruggs Construction for $27,174 for a Counter space renovation for the Court Clerk’s Office.
McCommas Construction declined to bid. Buoy Brothers Construction’s bid was $39,758.
In other business, commissioners: Approved a Timberhill Estates Plat Map in District 3.
Took no action on a Miracle Creek Plat Map in District 1.
Approved Title Sheets for District 1.
Reviewed Employee Incident reports and approved safety awards for those eligible.
Approved support for Judy Smith in her application to participate in the Reaching Rural InitiativeTraining Program.
Approved a transfer in BIA funds for a bridge in District 3.
Adopted a resolution establishing the Attorney General Opioid Abatement Grant account. County Clerk Alicia Wagnon explained, “The grant is for $150,000 and this is for $37,500, our quarterly draw from that.”
