A $6,000 bench warrant issued for the arrest of a Chandlermanfacingtwodrugfeloniesandamisdemeanor drug count has been returned and filed and he has waived his preliminary hearing.
Two counts of unlawful possession of Controlled Drug with intent to distribute were formally filed in Lincoln County District Court July 31 against John Wesley Clark, 52.
He is also charged with a single count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
In count 1, Clark is accused on July 19, 2024 of possessing methamphetamine, as classified as a Controlled Dangerous Substance, located at 1008 Birch Avenue in Wellston with the intent to distribute.
In count 2, Clark is charged on the same day of possessing marijuana as classified as a Controlled Dangerous Substances at the same address as above with the intent to distribute.
Count 3, a misdemeanor, accuses Clark on July 19, 2024 of possessing syringes which are used by abusers of drugs classified as CDS without having any medical or other lawful need requiring possessing of paraphernalia.
Supplemental information filed in the case by Assistant District Attorney Kelly Trimble shows that Clark has two previous felony convictions.
One was in Lincoln County District Court on June 16, 2017 for assault with a dangerous weapon.
The other was also in Lincoln County District Court on May 21, 2013 for assault with a dangerous weapon.
Officers discovered and confiscated quantities of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during the course of their investigation, according to a probable cause affidavit.
