Recommended: Life without parole

A Lincoln County jury has convicted an Agra man of six felonies, five related to minors and has recommended life without parole as punishment on two of those.

Formal charges, which was the second amended information, were filed in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 21,2025 against Zachary Taylor Watkins, 35, of Agra.

The six felonies included child sexual abuse material, buying, possessing, procuring; child abuse, domestic assault and battery by strangulation; two counts of lewd or indecent sexual acts to a child under 16 and a second case of child abuse.

The jury has recommended two life terms without parole; another life term; two 10-year terms and a oneyear term.

Lincoln County Assistant District Attorneys Kelly Trimble and Rachel Thompson prosecuted the case for the state and OSBI agent Rachell Savory assisted.

Following the verdict, and recommendations of the jury, Trimble issued the following statement.

“We are so thankful that because of the jury’s verdict of Life in Prison Without the Possibility of Parole, another child molester will never harm the victims or any other children ever again. Through the collaboration of the Child Advocacy Center and law enforcement, we were able to ensure that justice was served and that a clear message was sent to the Defendant.”

District Judge Sarah Bridge, who presided over the case, has scheduled sentencing for Watkins at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2025.

Watkins was defended by his attorney Shelley Levisay.

In count 1, Watkins was accused on Jan. 10, 2024 of committing the crime of possession of child pornography by possessing videos and images of children under the age of 18 engaged in acts of sexual conduct in Lincoln County.

Count 2 charged him with child abuse between Jan. 7, 2024 and Jan. 6, 2025of using unreasonable force against a minor.

In count 3, he was charged with between Jan. 1, 2023 and June 1, 2023 of strangling a person whom he had a previous dating relationship by choking the victim.

In count 4, Watkins was accused of lewd or indecent acts to a child between Oct. 17, 2020 and June 1, 2023.

Count 5 charged him with lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 between Oct. 17, 2020 and June 1, 2023.

In count 6, Watkins was charged with child abuse between Jan. 1, 2023 and June 1, 2023.

Supplemental information filed by Assistant DA Trimble shows Watkins has previous convictions on March 10, 2015 in Lincoln County District Court of count 1 lewd acts with a child and count 2 soliciting sexual conduct or communication by use of technology.
