Meeker Town Board of Trustees during their most recent meeting took action regarding the Meeker Lake project.
Town Clerk and Treasurer Mary Conner said regarding the Meeker Lake project the Trustees had one of two options on moving the project forward.
She explained, “They chose option 1, which is to keep the permanent water levels the same, widen the spillway, armor it and raise the dam 2.6 feet.”
The other option, she said, “would be to lower the permanent water level five feet, widen the spillway, armor it, but not to raise the dam. Both alternatives correct dam safety deficiencies. Option 2 would be significantly cheaper, however, it comes with the reduction in permanent water, 228 surface acres versus 155 surface acres.”
