$5k bench warrant issued for Prague convicted sex offender

A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Prague man who previously has been convicted of at least six felonies and now faces a new one.

MitchellThurman Buss, 42, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on March 10, 2025 with failure to register as sex offender. A $5,000 bench warrant was issued for his arrest the same day the charge was filed.

Buss is accused on or between Dec. 5, 2024 and Jan. 23, 2025 of failure to register as a sex offender with the Prague Police Department as his residence was in the city of Prague for a period of more than three days and he failed to notify the Prague Police Department of a change of address.

Buss was convicted inTulsa County District Court on March 18, 2015 of Indecent Expsoure.

Supplemental information filed in the case by Assistant District Attorney Kelly Trimble shows Buss has five other previous convictions as well.

They include May 18, 2022 in Lincoln County District two counts of failure to register as a sex offender; June 20, 2005 in Cleveland County District Court of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude a police officer, and three counts of avoiding a roadblock; April 4, 2008 in Pittsburg County District Court of felony assault and battery on a Correctional Officer and transferring fluid on a State employee; and on Oct. 27, 2004 in Pottawatomie County District Court of possession of a stolen vehicle.
