Connie Mae (Stidham) Carroll

Del City, Oklahoma August 10, 1946 – March 3, 2025 Connie, or Connie Mae to her many family and friends, was born August 10, 1946, in Chandler, OK, the daughter of Ray and Goldie (Smith) Stidham. She grew up with one brother, Eugene Stidham, sister-in-law, Linda (Eversole) Stidham, and two sisters, Melinda (Stidham) Campbell and Pam (Stidham) Combs. She graduated aproudChandlerLion, class of ‘64.

Connie loved people, especially her children, Charlene Denise (Carroll) Ferris and John Bradley Carroll, their father, JohnA. Carroll, and her treasured grandson, Tyler William Ferris. Like her mother, Goldie, she was a caregiver by nature; if you had an ailment she would research and offer remedies. She lovingly cared for both of her parents until their passing. She had wonderful long-time neighbors who watched after, loved, and enriched her life; the Piñas, Ross’ and Stearmans.

Connie loved to dance, shop, travel, decorate her home and yard, get her nails and toes done, watch football, pamper her dogs and cats, study her Bible, and listen to music. The outdoorswaswhereConnie found her peace; growing beautiful flowerbeds and a plush manicured lawn. She loved her Country and would host big backyard Fourth of July celebrations with family and friends. She had a joyful free spirit and a smile and laugh that would light up the room. Her gifts were making things around her beautiful and enriching the lives of other people.

Connie retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas, where she was active in CreditWomen International, bowling, and softball leagues. She made many cherished lifelong friends throughout her career.

Connie passed from this life on March 3, 2025, when she was 78. She had taken ill with early onset Alzheimer’s and kidney disease and was living in the care of her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Emily, in Tennessee.

Informal graveside services for Connie Mae Carroll will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m., Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler, OK. If you need seating for the service, please feel free to bring a lawn chair. Following the service, friends and family are invited to get together for snacks and reminiscing. The location will be announced at the service.
