Psi Master chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Stroud, joined thousands of members throughout the world to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the organization on April 30, 1931. It was also the 46th anniversary of the chartering of the local chapter. Beta Sigma Phi is a women’s organization with emphasis on friendships and learning by requiring members to present programs on any subject they choose, and to serve their communities with a variety of service projects and to promote women and give them an opportunity to serve, learn, and enjoy socials and events with other members.
The 2025 Internation theme, “The Right Place to Be” was used with tables decorated with colored cloths and pots of fresh plants later given as door prizes.
Chairman of the event was Cindy Mason assisted by Mary Jackson, Darlene Lau, Michelle Doherty and Chris Hodge.
A catered dinner was served followed by the welcome, introduction of members of the Bristow chapter who were special guests, and repeating of the Founder’s Day Pledge. Highlights of the Year were given by Linda Waller. Those with perfect attendance were recognized outgoing officers were given Pins in appreciation of their service.
Two outstanding Programs of the Year were awarded to Kim Johnson for her program, “The Love of Music in our Life” and to Ayne Huelsman for her program on, “Those Beautiful Disney Princesses” along with her interpretation of the “Rapunzel” fairy tale. They were given Program of the Year pins and a certificate of recognition. Having two new Pledges join the chapter, Destiny Jackson and Ayne Huelsman were honored as Pledges of the Year and given a gift and certificate.
Members achieving membership milestones received new degrees in candlelight ceremonies and new pins signifying the new status along with a yellow rose, official flower of the organization. Those receiving honors were Pam Hunt, reaching the Master degree; Rachel Shields who received the Preceptor degree, and Ayne Huelsman and Destiny Jackson, who received the second level of membership, the Ritual of the Jewels.
Highlight of the evening was naming of the 2025 Woman of the Year by previous winner, Sandy Jones, to Chris Hodge, for her years of membership, leadership and service. She is the current President and will serve as State Convention cochair as the chapter plans to host the 2026 State Convention in Stroud. She was given the Woman of the Year trophy and pin.
Darlene Lau and Michelle Hodge announced the new annual theme, ‘Angels of Friendship.” Members were reminded of the meaning of the attributes of Beta Sigma Phi membership, courage, vision, service, loyalty, humility and fellowship and to remember the pledge to do their best to live by the aims and ideals of BSP, Life, Learning and Friendship and were given Torchbearer degree pins and yellow roses.
The evening concluded with dessert, door prizes and Secret Sister gift exchange. Attending were Sue Helms, Kim Johnson, Sandy Jones, Pam Hunt, Rachel Shields, Chris Hodge, Davina McGee, Kim Weldy, Ayne Huelsman, Destiny Jackson, Mary Jackson, Linda Waller, Cindy Mason, Michelle Doherty, D a r l e n e Lau, Pam Clement and seven Bristow members.
