Embezzlement charge

A Chandler woman who was by Meeker police and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation in June has been formally charged with embezzlment.

Lesa Manning, 64, was charged in Lincoln County District with one count of embezzlement. She made her initial appearance before Special Judge Emily Mueller on June 12. She set her bond at $25,000.

Judge Mueller scheduled her pre-preliminary hearing for 9 a.m. Aug. 14.

Manning is accused of between March 1, 2019 and Dec. 31, 2024 of fraudulently appropriating $160,128.23 that belonged to Easy Lay Liners, Inc. in Meeker.

Court records show that a $25,000 bench warrant was issued for Manning’s arrest on June 12.

Meeker Assistant Police Chief Scott Wilson said Meeker Police and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation arrested Manning andbookedherintothe Lincoln County Jail.

Wilson stated the joint investigation has been under way for about six months. “We worked with the OSBI due to their forensic expertise,” he ssaid.

Wilson said Manning is a former employee of Easy Lay Liner.
