The Stroud City Council approved the appointment of Linda Smith to the Stroud Hospital and Development Authority at their regular meeting on July 10.
They also approved the renewal of lease purchase agreements for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 and line transfers for the FY 2024-25 budget.
The Council entered executive session to discuss negotiations regarding employees and representatives of employment groups. After this session, the Council voted to approve a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Stroud and the Fraternal Order of Police.
City Council approved Resolution 2025-2026-1 of the Council of the City of Stroud and trustees of the Stroud Utilities Authority which establishes an investment policy for the City of Stroud.
The Council also discussed drainage and rainwater issues on Newton Street, with a resident saying she was satisfied with the work.
Resident Linda Smith spoke during petitions from the audience, asking the City Council to consider an alternative to next year’s firework display.
Smith said she can’t leave her house during the display because of safety concerns and requests a fire truck for any embers from the fireworks.
This year she didn’t get a truck. Smith presented debris from the display to the Council.
