A Stroud man who already was convicted earlier this year of two felonies in Lincoln County recently was charged with one, has pleaded guilty and been sentenced.
Ronald Dean Mixon, about 62, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court with aggravated assault and battery.
Recently, as the result of a plea bargain, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced.
He was accused of on July 21, 2025 of committing aggravated assault and battery against Thomas Beeson by punching Beeson in the face with force and violence and causing a fractured mandible.
Appearing recently before Special Judge Emily Mueller he waived the two-judge rule and Mixon pleaded guilty. The judge found him guilty as charged and sentenced him to 20 years in the Department of Corrections with all but the first 10 years to be suspended.
He received time for credit served and waived a pre-sentence investigation.
Judge Mueller fined him $100, gave him a $100 VCA, ordered him to pay court costs and placed him on supervised probation with DOC.
The judge ordered the matter to run concurrent with several other cases.
Supplemental information filed in the case by Assistant District Attorney Kelly Trimble shows Mixon was convicted in two separate Lincoln County District Court cases on June 16, 2025 of unlawful possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute.
He was also previously convicted on Feb. 1, 2017 in Creek County District Court of knowingly concealing stolen property.
