Wellston Police Chief Alf Hancock has resigned from his position, according to the Town of Wellston.
Hancock had been chief since 2019. Shawn Stewart will be the interim police chief.
Stewart is from Wellston and has 16 years of experience in law enforcement in Wellston and other departments, said Town Administrator Samantha Jordan.
“We want to thank Officer Hancock for his service and dedication to our community. We appreciate the time and effort he gave to the Town of Wellston,” the Town said in a Facebook
