ThePragueSchoolBoard approved several employment changes at its regular meeting on March 9, including the hiring of a new superintendent.
James Payne received a unanimous vote from the Board, becoming the superintendent of Prague Public Schools for the 2026-2027 school year. In addition, the Board approved the employment of Samantha Strickland as a paraprofessional, Kylie Teape as middle school principal, Bryna Anderson as elementary principal and Gina Scoggins as the early childhood school principal.
The Board also accepted the resignations of Morgan Cloud (ECC paraprofessional) Hillary Dingus (high school principal).
Current Superintendent Kimberly Fleak gave an update at the meeting, reporting that the school district has received $58,000 in a Redbud school grant. Additionally, three ECC teachers received grants for $500 each. The district also received a $10,000 grant from GES, which will be utilized by the middle school STEM program.
