Danker resigns from Wellston Schools

The superintendent of Wellston Public Schools resigned at the School Board’s last regular meeting in February.

Shortly after the Board approved the superintendent contract for the 202627 year, Dwayne Danker announced that he would be resigning as of June 30, 2026, according to the minutes of the meeting.

The Board did approve there-employmentofSusan Wray as elementary principal and Greg Grimmett as the high school/middle school principal, while acknowledging the retirement of Susanne Chapman and the resignation of DeAnne Chapa.

Other items approved by the Board include a quote from Oswalt Restaurant Supply for a convection steamer for the cafeteria and two policies regarding substitute teachers and parent participation.The Board also approved American Fidelity as the section 125 plan provider for the 202627 school year.

Additionally, the Board approved the Chase Morris Site Place for the middle school and high school site. This is an emergency operations site plan for a sudden cardiac arrest response team.
