Bulldogs have their way in 59-0 romp
Davenport romped past Strother, 59-0, Friday night to go 3-1 for the season.
Strother falls to 1-4.
Kyle Hobill opened Davenport’s scoring, running 59 yards for a touchdown. Carson Funk added a conversion run to make it 8-0.
Funk threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Cal Harleson for the second score, then Hayden Bolt returned a fumble five yards for a score.
Tyler Harrison ran in the conversion for a 22-0 lead.
After that, it was Harrison for a 27-yard touchdown run, then a 7-yard scoring run.
Cole Yancey return an interception for a touchdown to make it 44-0 at intermission.
Tyler Harrison added a 19-yard run for a score and Zion Ward ran 62 yards for the final touchdown.
Davenport spread its offense around.
Funk had four carries for eight yards and completed three of four passes, good for 56 yards and one touchdown.
Hobill had four carries for 90 yards, including his 59-yard touchdown, and added two conversion runs.
Harrison had six carries for 71 yards and scoring runs of 27, 7 and 19 yards.
Brendan Cown carried two for six yards and a two-point conversion.
Jacye Phillips, Parker Mitchell and Zion Wood got the ball once each, with Phillips and Mitchell getting two and six yards, respectively.
Wood made the most of his carry, taking it 62 yards to the house.
Colton Vanfossen, Casey Haarrelson and Cal Harrison had a catch apiece, Cal Harrison’s being a touchdown catch.
