The unbeaten Dewar Dragons kept rolling Friday, beating Davenport 34-14 in the final non-district game for both teams.
Dewar had rolled to a 4-0 record before Friday, with the lowest previous margin of victory being a 46-0 win over Strother in the opener and a 52-6 win over Wetumka two weeks later.
Davenport got on the board first, getting a 16-yard run from Carson Funk and a conversion pass to Kyle Hobill to go up 8-0.
After that, Dewar ran off 34 consecutive points before Hobill ran 13 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
For the game, Davenport had 10 first downs and was flagged five times for 45 yards.
Funk ran 10 times for 43 yards and a touchdown and completed four of nine throws for 31 yards plus a conversion. He also returned one punt for 43 yards.
Hobill was Davenport’s leading rusher, carrying 13 times for 79 and a touchdown. He also caught three balls for 18 yards plus a conversion.
Cal Harelson had one catch for 13 yards.
Clayton Perceful returned one Dewar kick for 17 yards and Cole Tancey returned two for 37 yards.
Davenport opens district play next week at Wesleyan Christian School, then visits Depew before returning home against Prue on Oct. 25.
