“We felt like we had a good chance to win it,” he said. “We felt we had the best team and were excited to have the opportunty to prove it.
“Then we got the call, and heard it was postponed. We still didn’t know a whole lot, but we started hearing the NBA and the colleges were postponed, so it didn’t look good.” The team wasn’t sup
The team wasn’t supposed to be together, so Edmondson communicated with his players through texts, telling them to stay in shape, work, run, lift.
“The OSSAA said they would try to do everything they could to play, saying maybe we could play with no fans,” he said.
“Then the announcement came that we weren’t going back to school, so we knew we wouldn’t get to play.”
Just like that, the season - and the career for senior Cedrc Scott, Brady Johnson and Trae Thompson - was over.
“I hate it for those guys. There are no words to make them feel better,” Edmondson said. “At least I get to come back and the other guys get to come back, but they didn’t get to finish the season or have any closure.”
