I grew up during the “Great Depression.” It was far worse than what we have in this Coronavirus of today.
There weren’t any food banks or the schools didn’t provide two meals a day for the children.
Which I think is so good. Also there weren’t any jobs to go back to! No unemployment checks to help out.
There were six in my family. We didn’t have any food. Many nights we all went to bed hungry.
We had an old car, but no gas to go anywhere. We had to either walk or dad would ride the public street car to downtown to the daily public work office to try to get a one day job.
We were so happy when Dad came home with a shopping bag of day old powdered sugar doughnuts. We had something to eat for two days.
I think that the nation is going back to work too soon.
The second wave is going to be worse than the first of this virus.
Now pets are getting it too. How sad that people “won’t” stay home.
It’s been six weeks since I’ve been off my property.
