The OKC Patriots jumped to an 18-0 halftime lead and tarnished NRC’s homecoming, 27-6.
Despite the loss, Cougars head coach Jason Murray said the game marked improvement by his squad, which is playing an independent schedule in its first season of varsity football.
“We played better,” he said. “We got big-played by them.
“They earned one touchdown and we gave them two in the first half.
“Defensively, our tackling was a lot better, with a lot more hats to the ball.
“Offensively, we finally put together a long drive, 11 plays, didn’t shoot our selves in the foot or get penalties.”
