It was a remarkable week for athletes in our area. Meeker sophomore Riley Randall, above left, brought home the Class 3A cross country state championship. The outcome of his race was never in doubt after the first mile, as Randall ran in virtual isolation the rest of the race and finished the 5K course in 16:43.09. Photo/Brian Blansett. The Chandler girls cross country team, above right, won the Academic state championship by having the highest grade-point average of any team in the state. The group of Victoria Barton, Cobie Rickner, Emily Horn, Leah Brannon, Grace Myers, Cassie Wright and Shayla Peery have 4.0 grade averages. That means every one of them has a 4.0 grade average - for their high school careers. Photo/Jennifer Pryor
