Stroud Library events

Stroud Public Library will celebrate National Library Week with “Blind Date with a Book.” Come check out a wrapped book and see if you find a surprising new reading love. NLW theme this year is “Welcome to Your Library!”

While the Stroud Public Library closed to the public for only eight weeks in 2020, we have missed seeing many of our regular patrons. Come get to know your library once again – just wear a mask. Many new books await for all ages! Some of the new titles coming soon to library shelves include: “The Beirut Protocol,” “Death by Chocolate Snickerdoodle,” “Calder Brand,” “Someone to Watch Over Me” and many others by favorite authors.

In conjunction with NLW, the library is once again offering to forgive fines for overdue materials. It doesn’t matter if the borrowed item is days or months late as long as it is in good shape and ready to be borrowed again. So during your attack on dust bunnies (a.k.a. spring cleaning) check for late library books.

Free passes to the OKC Zoo are still available. Check out “Juniper’s Butterfly Garden” now and enjoy your zoo trip any time before July.

Our Tiny Tots Story Time continue with monthly readings for toddlers posted online. Themed craft materials are available for pickup to those who register. Please follow us on Facebook for new videos and event announcements.

COVID adaptations to services include encouraging the use of our online catalog to select books or DVDs and picking them up curbside. Items may be returned to the book drop. All returns are cleaned and quarantined. You may also email us documents to print and pick up your papers curbside. We began an online method of signing up for e-book service. A one-year, temporary card can be issued for e-book access without an in-person visit. The OK Virtual Library easily reached a goal of over 1 million checkouts in 2020. Wireless internet is available outside the library building. You may contact the library by phone or email for login assistance.

Please call (918) 968-2567 if you have any questions. Stroud Public Library is at 301 W. 7th Street and cityofstroud. com/librarycatalog and on Facebook @ StroudOKLibrary. The building is open Mon.-Tues. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-6 p.m.; Wed.-Thur.-Fri., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m.; and Saturday 9 a.m.-noon.
