Larry Luther James was born to Elmer and Marie (Wallis) James on June 8, 1947, in Sparks, Okla. He died Saturday, September 12, 2020, at his home in Cassville, Mo. He was 73 years old.

A 1965 graduate of Davenport High School, Larry served in the United States Army. He worked at Worthington Pump in Shawnee, Okla., before moving to Cassville. He became an electrician and worked for King Electric in Fayetteville, Ark.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Patsy Quinn; a brother-in-law, Mark Melson; one daughter, Lisa Bruton; and one grandson.

Survivors include his siblings and their spouses, Don and Marlene James of Shawnee, Carol Melson of Chandler and Jesse and Diana James of Stroud; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Greg Hodge of Cassville and Jana and TJ Weatherford of Aurora, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Services and burial with military honors were held Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Hogeye Cemetery in Wheaton, Mo., under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears officiated.
