Happenings at Prairie Pointe

Helen Arrington led our church services again Sunday with a devotional entitled “Prayer.”

Prayer is the act that seeks a rapport with God wherein we can divine his will for us. She asked for input to involve others. The singing of hymns helped us get in a mood for worship.

Wednesday is Movie Night at Prairie Pointe. This month we have enjoyed several humorous and uplifting selections.

Thursday remains our favorite day at Prairie Pointe. It’s Hair Day with Peggy and Joe Bill always brings wonderful donuts.

The other day I overheard someone ask if donuts were healthy. Have you ever met a donut that was sick?

August birthdays included resident Hellen Horton and staff members Jennifer Bolt, Shareta “Ree” Gonzales and Christine Beck.

Happy Birthdays, Ladies!

Thanks to our dog Buddy, for $15 bail money, I recently got a tour of the new Stroud City Dog Pound.

It’s quite an upgrade and a long overdue improvement to our city.

Stroud Lion’s Club will host its first Pumpkin Patch Festival Saturday, October 3, at the Stroud Pavilion on Main Street.

They will have a wide assortment of pumpkins for all your Halloween and fall decorating needs.

We have checked in with the Lincoln County Election Board and learned our mail-in ballots will be sent out about a month prior to election day in November.

No way are we going to let a virus prevent us from voting.

Please make your plans now on how you will mark your ballot and participate in the coming presidential election.

Women were not allowed to vote until 1920 so ladies let’s celebrate the 100- year anniversary of that hard fought right at the ballot box.
