1. Update on Meeker Lake Quapaw 15 Project
A. I talked to Tammy Sawatsky about our progression on the lake & she said a lot of good things are going on behind the scenes – That sounded good to me.
B. Still waiting on soil samples. I wish they would have taken them to Chick-Fil-A. We would have been months ahead. LOL!!
C. The report on the Meeker Lake Resort is sure stirring the news. Much more to come about all that.
2. Update on Glenncrest Park
A. All the playground sets are here and erected. Swing sets, picnic tables, park benches are all on the grounds, and are just waiting to be placed in their proper position.
Basketball court, volleyball court are waiting on finishing touches. The mulch needs to be spread under swings and playground sets.
B. We are in final negotiations on the asphalt parking lot.
C. Rocks need to be set.
D. Flower beds need to be made & flowers and shrubs planted.
3. Growth & Development Update
A. More meetings for planning & discussing the parade, car & truck show, food vendors, merchan dise vendors, and all the games.
B. The members and officers have been making some very special seasonal items for sale & some to give away as prizes.
C. Mrs. Walton & Mrs. Williams have been making a ton of phone calls and going around to all the businesses collecting goodies to give to Car Show participants. This team will be giving away prizes every 30 minutes to the car folks. So, get a spot on Main Street, after the parade & show off your ride, new or old. You may win a prize. 1st & 2nd place prizes are given for each class. Almost 10 different classes, so come on down!
4. Update on Chamber of Commerce
A. Mary Conner, City Clerk/Court Clerk won the Monthly Most Friendly Employee of the Month award.
B. Plan on attending the Fall Festival, Saturday, October 1st at the Meeker High School Bus Barn. Sounds like a lot of fun! I hope the dunk tank is there again this year.
